How do you ensure a thought leadership series on our natural world has scientific rigour and charm?

For COP26, The New York Times launched its Climate Hub: a nine-day physical and digital event featuring live journalism and thought leadership around action on climate change. To embed science across the programme we developed The Scientist Briefing, a daily conversation with Natural History Museum experts covering topics such as measuring biodiversity loss, the health of our oceans, regenerative agriculture and the green economy. This partnership enabled The New York Times to feature UK experts who not only had a depth of knowledge about the natural world but were equally skilled at engaging the public in a clear and often charming way; whilst providing Museum with a global platform to share their science with key business, cultural and policy communities.
