How do you build a community of business, cultural and political leaders to come together and stand up for nature?

With COP26 coming to Glasgow, the world began to focus heavily on climate change negotiations. Voice for Nature wanted to enter the conversation by making sure that Nature was not forgotten and a key part of the agenda. With this in mind, we created The Nature Bar - a space where extraordinary individuals: policy makers, environmentalists, scientists, journalists, storytellers, and artists could come together, connect and speak up for the natural world. The experience was launched at The New York Times Climate Hub during COP26 and subsequently repeated at London Climate Action Week.

Programming at The Nature Bar focused on personal and tangible perspectives, grounded in knowledgeable and honest dialogues. Speakers have included Andrew Steer, Sylvia Earle, Enric Sala, Janine Benyus, Prof Yadvindar Malhi, Will Marshall, Clover Hogan, Myrtle Simpson, Martin Hartley, Will Steger, Lewis Pugh and Ellie Goulding. We also recognised the power of culture and fun in building community, so discussions were interspersed with performances, quizzes and film screenings. Previous performers include Jayda G, Belle and Sebastian’s Stuart Murdoch, Sting, Oliver Jeffers and Bruce Parry.
